Hey everyone, CodeRed here.

I've been cartooning online since my sophomore year at the Air Force Academy, I'm currently in pilot training. I drew well over a hundred cartoons for the eDodo, wrote and animated the Falcon Love song, and created the college webcomic Standard Deviation. I'm currently producing a new scifi comic called Jovian Luck. All of which can be found at coderedcomics.com (the USAFA cartoons can be found in the dropdown menu at the top).

I created Air Force Blues, AWACker and Armed Forces Comics. My work has been featured at CHairforce.com, edodo.org, AFBlues.com, Airman Magazine (once, and we all know how that went,) AF.mil, Defenselink.mil, Military Times and a few other places.

What Tablet/Pad do you use?

So a friend and I have a bunch of ideas about making a web comic of our own.

I have read what everyone uses software wise so far, and have the software taken care of.

But what pad/tablets do you use and or recommend? I have read a bunch of reviews, but most are vague. I was thinking of something along the size of 6x8, not the smallest but not the biggest. The large ones are a bit out of my price range at the moment.

Any and all suggestions/advice would be most welcome!

I, unfortunately, do things the extremely hard way by using a copy of Corel Draw that someone gave me. This isn't too bad since my strip isn't in color and the only thing I use it for is to add the word balloons and lines. It still takes about an hour per strip though. I'm told Photoshop is better but I'm cheap too and don't have enough time to learn everything. Hopefully I can get a tablet or something at some point. We'll see.

I'm a little bit ghetto.

I use adobe photoshop elements 6.0 for the mac. Its not an ideal program for cartooning in that I have to take the long way around to do very simple things. Even on a good day a comic that should take an hour or less takes me about and hour and a half to two hours. But then again I am cheap and I don't want to drop the cash on a better program, so there you have it. On the other side of the coin photoshop elements comes for free with just about every drawing pad ...

Hi everyone! For those that don't know me I'm Michael Hunter the artist and everything else of The War Out There. The webcomic is basically about three aliens sent to Earth to prepare for an invasion. Unfortunately they've been sent to an Army post. So my strip has loose military references in it but I am in the Army. Actually I've been in for 16 years but have only recently started the webcomic. If you have any questions for me just ask. Here to help as much as I can.

I am the author (although not always the mind) behind www.thecrewdogs.com

I have been drawing all my life. I started drawing comic strips in college around 2002-2003 but never went anywhere with it until I started drawing Crew Dogs in 2007. Although I haven't been featured anywhere I do have a book coming out.

I love finding new ways to improve my comics, and my hope is that they will be as visually appealing as they are funny someday.
